This BMW 3.0 CSL was first delivered to BMW Italia in December 1972. A year later it was equipped with the Aero-Kit and was eventually registered. In 1984 the BMW was imported to Austria where it was registered. The same year the car was taken apart and entirely reconstructed. Some modifications to engine, gearbox, rear axle, breaks and running gear were executed. All modifications were registered in 1987. What makes this 3.0 CSL so special are the 4 valve engine M88 (based on the M1), the 5 gear Getrak gear box, limited slip differential with oil cooling, Alpina running gear and brake system. The interior is in Recaro Design. The car was taken out of service in 1993 and had been kept in a garage since. Early 2015 brakes, fuel pipes and power train were thoroughly overhauled so that it now is in running condition.

BMW E9 – 3,0 CSL
E9 was the type designation for the coupe variant of the series E3. It was built in commission by Karmann in Rheine between 1968 and 1975. As of 1971 the first 3.0 CSL coupes were made as homologation series for motor sports in cooperation with Alpina. The CSL (Light Sports Coupe) had the same performance as the Csi, however, because of its lower weight it had a clearly better acceleration.
