The owner acquired the car as a first hand barn find in the U.S.A. and had it shipped to Germany for a complete overhaul. It was first delivered to an American Vietnam veteran who kept it in his barn after ten years of use. For the restoration in Germany strong emphasis was put on accuracy and quality. The original engine was overhauled, the rest of the car was restored with similar care.

Ford Mustang
In 1964 the American car manufacturer Ford began the production of the model Mustang. For trademark reasons, the car was sold in Germany with the type designation ‘T5’. The mustang is the forefather of the ‘Pony Car’ class. The name also describes a type of horse. In the late 1960s German car makers copied the Pony car concept. Typical representatives of this inexpensive sports coupe were the Opel Manta and the Ford Capri. The Mustang took over first place of Ford’s most successful sports coupes from the Thunderbird.
