Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 1991 – SPRZEDANA

MODEL HISTORY
The first Evoluzione cars were built at the end of 1991 and through 1992. These were to be the final homologation cars for the Lancia Rally Team; the Catalytic Evoluzione II was never rallied by the factory.

In order to improve the handling, the Evolution 1 had a wider track front and rear than its predecessors which resulted in the already boxed arches getting even wider. The front strut top mounts were also raised to generate more grip, which resulted in the need for a strut brace to control these new forces.
External changes included, a redesigned bonnet with new air slats and new grilles in the front bumper to further assist engine cooling, an adjustable roof spoiler to aid rear down force and really emphasize the cars aggressive lines, and new 5 stud alloy wheel derived from the rally cars.

The new Integrale retained the legendary four wheel drive layout, an epicyclic centre diff with torque splitter (47% to front, 53% to rear), Ferguson viscous coupling and Torsen rear differential. The 16V engine was carried forward from the earlier car and benefited from a re-map to increase power to 210 bhp.

The results gave the desired improvements on the rally circuits with the new cars clocking times over 5% faster on both tarmac and gravel sections.

EQUIPMENT
Homologation model, Intercooler Water spray, Leather covered steering wheel, Leather Interior, Air conditioning, Sunroof, Sony CD player, Clifford Alarm, Electric Windows, Power Steering.

EXTERIOR
The wide arch 80s box design of this rally hero looks every bit the part covered in its Monza Red paintwork. The paint exudes a good glossy shine and the body presents well with no corrosion to be found, only some light bumper scuffs showing up its age and mileage.

Lights, grilles and plastic trim remain in place and in excellent condition only adding to the purposeful and recognisable design.

INTERIOR
A high specification car including a full Recaro leather interior in excellent order with nor rips or tears, a Momo steering wheel, air-conditioning and a sunroof.

The dash bulges with dials supplying the driver with every bit of information needed, including engine boost pressure and oil temperature.

The boot houses the water spray bag, specific to the first 2500 produced EVOs for homologation purposes, and allows instant cooling of the intercooler; preventing heat soak in order to keep power consistent from the turbo charged unit.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The turbo charged engine is in good condition and has been regularly serviced with plenty of maintenance over the years. Notably a new clutch was fitted at 32k miles and the cambelt replaced at 42K miles. The last oil service was in July last year with a large amount of work carried out at over £4,000. Firing eagerly into life the car performs admirably on test; boosting as it should with the intuitive drivetrain in first class order.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The polished 15 inch rims are in excellent condition with no scuffs or marks. These have been recently refitted and as such carry mismatched tyres which can be replaced on sale if necessary.

Brakes are strong and in good condition with plenty of material remaining on inspection both on the disc and pad.

HISTORY FILE
