Just 18,600 kilometres from new

Built to celebrate Ferrari’s 40th birthday, the F40 was without question the pinnacle of Ferrari road car performance in the 1980s. Boasting an engine developed from the 288 GTO and tipping the scales at just 1,088 kilos, it produced mind-bending and record-breaking performance, making it the gold standard of the supercar industry for years to come.

Produced in 1990 as a mid-production F40 with catalytic converters and a non-adjustable suspension, chassis number 85749 was originally delivered to Italy and benefits from having just one registered owner from new. Presumably sold new to Germany and first registered shortly thereafter, the car has remained on its original registration ever since. The car’s odometer currently shows 18,600 kilometres from new, and its last service was carried out in July of 2013, at 17,068 kilometres.

One of Ferrari’s most iconic hypercars, the F40 was a legend from the moment it was introduced. Not only was it the fastest production car the world had ever seen, but it was also the very first production car to crack the mythical 200-mph barrier. Offering the next owner the opportunity to become its second registered owner, chassis number 85749 would be an astute acquisition for any Ferrari collector to enjoy what is perhaps the most iconic car of its era and what remains today as a truly thrilling car, one that can easily outpace many sports cars in production today, even though it is 27 years old.
