SEC to flagowy model Mercedesa w latach 1979 – 1991, długo niedoceniany przez rynek. Z latami samochody te są coraz bardziej doceniane i uważane za szczyt jakości marki. Imponujące S-klasy zyskują szacunek i uznanie, a liderem rynku jest topowy Mercedes 560 SEC, produkowany w latach 1985–1991. Ten niezwykły luksus na kołach oferowany był z pełnym wyposażeniem w standardzie, więc nikogo nie dziwiła cena. Dziwić mógł natomiast brak w ofercie fabrycznego kabrioletu, dostępnego w tej luksusowej wersji w latach 70-tych. Obłędny egzemplarz 560 SEC wystawiony na aukcji prezentuje się bardzo elegancko w czarnym kolorze z dopasowanym czarnym dachem i szarą skórą we wnętrzu. Dostarczony do USA i urodzony jako coupé 560 SEC, zakupiony przez obecnego właściciela w 2015 roku, był wcześniej elementem dużej kolekcji na Kajmanach, a następnie w Szwajcarii. Wpisy jakie udało się odszukać mówią, że dach został usunięty w pierwszych latach po produkcji, a samochód wyposażony został w elektrycznie składany, miękki dach. Niestety warsztat, który dokonał konwersji, nie jest znany. Mercedes, który bez wątpienia przeniesie nowego właściciela do lat 80-tych, wylicytowany został za 34,5 tysiąca euro, czyli około 147,8 tysięcy złotych. Licytowany bez ustalonej ceny minimalnej, przekroczył prognozowaną wycenę prawie trzykrotnie!

Converted to cabriolet body style
The Mercedes-Benz W126 is a series of flagship vehicles produced between 1979 and 1991. Previously underappreciated, these cars are now increasingly regarded as the pinnacle of Mercedes build quality. The imposing ‘S’ Class models are gaining respect and recognition among the classic car fraternity, and leading the pack is the range-topping 560 SEC produced from 1985 until 1991. Regarded as the ultimate luxury Mercedes-Benz of the day, it was one of the world’s most expensive cars when produced and came comprehensively equipped as standard.
This stunning 560 SEC is presented elegantly in black with a matching black top over grey leather. Delivered new to the U.S. and born as a 560 SEC coupé, its early history is not known but the car was purchased by the current owner in 2015 after passing through a large collection in the Cayman Islands and subsequently exported to Switzerland. Previous listings allude that the roof was removed and it was fitted with a power convertible top early in its life, but the shop that did the conversion is not known.
Opening up the luxury of Mercedes-Benz’s 560 SEC to the heavens, this is perhaps the ideal car for those looking to motor around in typical ’80s splendour.
